I painted this “En Plein Air” in city creek canyon, Salt Lake City. I love the way the shadows drape over the foothills in the evening. I love the winding road because it makes you want to just go take a look around the bend. I love plein air painting, being in the environment that youre painting is like painting with an extra tube of paint that you didn’t even know you had until you take the painting home the next day and you look at your creation with a sense of awe that “wow I really painted that?!” It’s almost an out of body experience.
